The Anemone Tea Bowl is named after the genus of flower, not the sea animal. The chawan is a large size tea bowl traditionally used for drinking matcha. The ripples on the body represent the petal separations and the bright blue dot is a call to the blue center of the white anemone flower. Also called a wind flower, the anemone means ‘sincerity’.
The body of the Anemone Tea Bowl is high-fire iron rich stoneware with a gloss white glaze interior and exterior and a bright blue touch.
