Father Zambezi’s Mission is an award-winning oolong tea from Malawi. The tea won the Gold Medal Award for Malawi Tea at the 7th North American Tea Conference in Canada, hosted in Niagara Falls in 2016.
The leaves are hand-picked, then rolled to various degrees of oxidation. The oxidation ranges from around 10%-40%. The result is a tea with sweet, savory, and tart notes, with a surprising balance.
This tea embodies the full-bodied, sweet-savory traits of good oolong tea.
Grown: Thyolo, Malawi, Africa
Organic: No – Conventional Herbicides, No Pesticides Used
Dry Aroma: Roasted, Cocoa Notes, Cereal, and Milky Sweetness
Tasting Notes: Buttery and Smooth Mouthfeel with Bright Vegetal Notes
Brewing Suggestion: We like this tea best in a teapot when we used 1-2 tablespoons (3-4 grams) of tea first brewed for 3-4 minutes. For gaiwan brewing, we recommend no more than 60-90 seconds for your first brew.
