This Formosa Oolong is a dark oolong at 60% oxidized. Formosa is the old name for Taiwan so the name literally means Taiwan Oolong. It tastes spiced like a mulled cider and is fantastic cold. We do recommend brewing this one a little longer to get the spicier flavors to emerge. Excellent for iced tea as it already tastes flavored.
Grown: Wushe, Nantou, Taiwan
Organic: No – Conventional
Dry Aroma: Fruity (Apricot/Peach) and Floral
Tasting Notes: Floral and Spicy (Cinnamon & Nutmeg) like a Mulled Cider with a Dry Mouth Feel
Side Note: Excellent for iced tea.
Brewing Suggestion: We like this tea best in a teapot when we used 1-2 teaspoons (3-5 grams) of tea first brewed for 3-4 minutes. For gaiwan brewing, we recommend 90 seconds for your first brew.
