A second flush tea from the Ilam region of Nepal, this Jasbirey Black Tea undergoes a long oxidation, is naturally dried, then fired. This bold, yet balanced tea is defined by its rich amber color and subtle muscatel notes. Frankly, it smells a little like hot chocolate and that’s fine with us.
Grown: Ilam, Mechi, Nepal
Organic: No – Conventional
Dry Aroma: Cocoa, Roasted, Vanilla, Floral Sweetness
Tasting Notes: Cocoa, Roasted, Woody, and Mild Muscatel Notes
Brewing Suggestion: We like this tea best in a teapot when we used 1-2 tablespoon (3-4 grams) of tea first brewed for 3-4 minutes. For gaiwan brewing, we recommend no more than 60-90 seconds for your first brew.
Experiment and let us know how you liked it best!
