This Flowery Silver Needle (Yin Zhen) white tea is a certified organic white tea that is comprised of needle shaped tea buds with silvery white down on each grey-green leaf. This unique tea has a mildly sweet flavor with aromatic notes of honey and melon.
To create this delicate tea the newly matured buds are hand-plucked within two days of sprouting. The silver-white hair gives the tea it’s name and signature look. As white tea is the least processed of all teas, the tea buds are just plucked and steamed before being dried in the open air. White teas are high in antioxidant content and this delicious Organic Flowery Silver Needle White is no exception.
Grown: Fujian, China
Organic: Certified
Dry Aroma: Sweet Grass, Honey, and Melon
Tasting Notes: Mellow Honey and bright Cantaloupe flavors dominate this relaxing brew.
Brewing Suggestion: White teas are the least processed of all teas and need a little extra care when brewing. Let your freshly boiled water sit for 1-2 minutes before pouring so the temperature can come down a bit. We like this tea best in a teapot when we used 1 tablespoon (3-4 grams) of tea first brewed for 1-2 minutes. For gaiwan brewing, we recommend the same amount of tea but only steeping for 45-60 seconds for first brew, 60 seconds for second brew, and 90 seconds for any brews thereafter.
Experiment and let us know how you liked it best!
