This first flush, bright Spring Sencha green tea comes from Shizouka, Japan, a region for tea growing. This is a great starter sencha with bright vegetal notes. Excellent for mornings and with meals.
Grown: Shizuoka, Japan
Dry Aroma: Hay with Hints of Berry Sweetness
Tasting Notes: Grassy, Marine Vegetal, with Hints of Citrus Sweet
Brewing Suggestion: We like this tea best in a small teapot or mug when we used 1 teaspoon (2-3 grams) of tea first brewed for 30-45 seconds at 170 F. For gaiwan or shiboridashi brewing, we recommend sticking to 10-20 seconds.
