This gold-tipped beauty smells like stone fruit and malt from a mile away. The raw tea material for the Twisted Tusk Black Tea is harvested from ancient wild tea trees growing on the high mountain slopes in and around the Van Chan district of Yen Bai Province.
Young leaves are picked and collected by hill tribes in the remote forests around there. The leaves are then processed in a nearby family run factory using traditional methods of withering, oxidation, drying, and sorting for a full Orthodox style leaf.
Grown: Van Chan, Yen Bai, Vietnam
Organic: No, Natural – Wild Tea Trees
Dry Aroma: Stone Fruit and Malt
Tasting Notes: Malt, Berry and Citrus Fruit Flavors with a Dry Tobacco Finish
Brewing Suggestion: We like this tea best in a teapot when we used 1-2 tablespoon (3-5 grams) of tea and boiling water first brewed for 4-5 minutes. For gaiwan brewing, we recommend no more than 45-60 seconds for your first brew using boiling water.
